Work experience programs
NSCC has four types of work experience programs: field experience, co-op, internships and service learning. Review the options to find one that matches your needs.
- Over 100 programs offer students the opportunity to apply their knowledge through experiences outside of the classroom.
- These opportunities can be paid or unpaid and last between 5 to 8 weeks.
- Understand your responsibility as an employer by reviewing the Field Experience Industry Partner Guide (PDF 269KB).
- Over 40 diploma programs offer students the opportunity for a paid co-op placement that lasts 12 to 16 weeks.
- Co-op is mandatory for Culinary Management* and Business - Hospitality programs
- NSCC follows Canadian Association for Cooperative Education (CAFCE)

- The International Business and Oceans Technology programs include an internship.
- This paid opportunity takes place at the end of the program and lasts approximately 14 weeks.
